Photogravure is an analog process that combines photography and traditional printmaking. An image is transferred to a light-sensitive surface on metal, etched, and then printed by hand on an etching press. The method allows for continuous tone and a wide range of subtle gradations. Shadows hold depth. Highlights remain soft. The physicality of ink on paper becomes part of the image.

Against the vastness of the surrounding terrain, the remaining frame reads as a small but persistent marker of what was once taken from the land.
